August Simplifies Airbnb Access for Hosts and Guests Alike

Jun 25, 2018

Are you an [Airbnb superhost](/content/pages/airbnb "Airbnb superhost"/index.html) who relies on your rental properties as an income source? Or are you an avid traveler who frequently turns to Airbnb for housing? August Home, a member of the Airbnb Host Assist program, just made your life a whole lot easier. With the introduction of automatic keyless access, [entering and exiting an Airbnb property](/content/pages/airbnb "entering and exiting an Airbnb property"/index.html) is now much simpler and more secure.

Now, when a guest reserves an Airbnb listing that is equipped with an August Smart Lock and August Smart Keypad, August will automatically generate a custom personal entry code that’s valid from check-in to check-out. Hosts no longer have to manage distribution of physical keys or lock box codes with August’s fully-automated access system. Airbnb hosts who have rental properties linked within the August app now have their choice of three convenient access options for their guests:

A custom PIN code for an August Smart Keypad that is automatically generated when an Airbnb reservation is made
Mobile phone access via the August app
Give guests both PIN code and August app access

When guests reserve an August-enabled property, they receive an email with detailed instructions based on the access method selected by the host. Any reservation changes or cancellations automatically change the access dates and times. Once the reservation ends, access to the property automatically ends.To learn more about smarter hosting with August, visit www.august.com/host.
