August Home is Lead ADT Home Access Partner

Jan 06, 2016

Security innovations continue to be a leading driver in smart home adoption. Today at CES in Las Vegas, ADT Corporation and August announced that August Smart Lock will be the smart lock for ADT’s Pulse platform. August’s integration with Pulse will allow ADT subscribers to manage their front door and home access conveniently from a single mobile app. Additionally, ADT and August are announcing a partnership to integrate smart home access innovations in security monitoring as part of Canopy, ADT’s Security-as-a-Service solution. August is the exclusive smart keyless door lock provider for integration with Canopy. Through the partnership, the August Home Access family of products will connect with ADT’s 24/7 expert monitoring and live support to raise the standards for consumer protection and redefine the next generation of home access security for the connected world. “ADT selected August for its superior smart home technology and approach to home security, which aligns with the ADT brand,” said Arthur Orduna, chief innovation officer for ADT.

ADT Canopy customers will be able to use the August Smart Lock to turn a smartphone into a smart key, allowing customers to lock or unlock doors, create virtual keys for guests and track anyone who locks or unlocks the door with instant notifications. Additionally, Canopy customers will be able to use the August Doorbell Cam to let customers see and speak with visitors at their door, from anywhere, using the August app on their iOS or Android smartphones. There are plans to build a panic feature into the interface that will allow customers to turn on alerts to notify ADT, adding additional security and comfort. And, additional security innovations will be added to Canopy over time as August and ADT continue working together.

If you have any questions about August’s partnership with ADT or any of our other home access products or partnerships, contact us today to learn more.
